We co-develop and improve our software solutions in collaboration with committed industrial and academic partners, integrating all the specialist know-how required to maximize functionality for our clients.

Industrial partners

Chemaxon

ChemAxon is a leader in providing chemical software development platforms for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Products and services include application programming interfaces (API) and end user applications for structure visualization and management, property prediction, virtual synthesis, screening and drug design.

Genostar has integrated ChemAxon's Marvin and JChem into PathwayExplorer, to enable management and visualization of chemical compound and biochemical reactions. The integration of this powerful cheminformatics toolkit enables our customers to find key links between compounds of interest, genes and metabolic pathways, a critical factor in drug discovery and design.

KEGG

The Kanehisa Laboratory has been developing knowledge-based methods for uncovering higher-order systemic behaviors of cells and organisms from genomic and molecular information since 1995. The reference knowledge is stored in the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG).

Genostar integrates biochemical and metabolic KEGG data into MicroB, enabling extensive comparative studies in complete confidentiality.

Genostar has integrated KEGG's metabolic pathway maps into PathwayExplorer and made them highly interactive, greatly facilitating comparative visual analyses of multiple organisms simultaneously.

Academic partners

INRIA

INRIA is the French national institute for research in computer science and control and is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in information and communication science and technology (ICST). The Institute plays a major role in technology transfer, developing partnerships with industry and founding companies in the field of ICST. INRIA works closely with biology laboratories to develop and validate software and data that contributes to the comprehension of the complexity of living systems.

INRIA was one of the founding partners of Genostar. Genostar continues to partner with INRIA's bioinformatics teams to transform academic expertise into industrial solutions.

SIB

The Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) is an academic, non-profit foundation established in 1998. SIB provides high quality bioinformatics services to the national and international research community. Services include the maintenance of public databases such as the UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot.

Genostar developed the MicroB reference database in close collaboration with SIB. The innovative integration and presentation of heterogeneous data facilitates efficient exploration of associations and relationships, improving and accelerating the discovery of biological systems.

This ongoing, fruitful collaboration ensures that MicroB stays up-to-date with cutting edge developments of the SIB experts.
